In November 2024 a group from Bristol Diocese, including members of Bristol Mothers' Union visited Uganda. In West Ankole Diocese they were shown a new MU complex under construction.

The complex has shops in the lower level, which will be rented out. MU's shop is already open. The upper level will house a restaurant, conference facility and skill centre, teaching young mothers employable skills.

Because Uganda has no Social Security system, MU helps where they can, where needed. Additionally, to involve fathers to help, where possible, in Uganda there is also a Fathers Union.
