Duchess of Edinburgh to be MU's New Patron

Sophie, wife of Prince Edward, Duchess of Edinburgh is to become the new Patron of the Mothers' Union following the death of Queen Elizabeth II and accession of Charles to be the monarch.

Sophie was born on 20th January 1965 and married Prince Edward on 19th June 1999. Together they have two children. At the time of becoming MU's patron Sophie is 60 years old. Sophie became the Duchess of Edinburgh when Charles conferred the title of Duke on Edward on 10th March 2023.
