Sarah Wyman, Our New Bristol President

Hello! I’m Sarah Wyman MU Bristol's new Diocesan President. I expect most of you know me, or of me because of my bright stripy socks.

I have been one of the Vice-Presidents while Jacky was President and I have met a lot of you. I must admit it is with trepidation I take this post as Jacky has done a wonderful job and I think she is a hard act to follow.

I live North East of Malmesbury and I am an Associate Minister in Braydon Brook Benefice. I have a husband and two adult children who live across the country.

As Mother’s Union in Bristol Diocese, we have an exciting time ahead.

In 2026 the Mother’s Union will be celebrating 150 years, so this year we will be thinking about what we as a Diocese can do.

We are also joining closer to meeting fellow people from Mother’s Union in our South West Cluster group (8 Dioceses - Bath and Wells, Bristol, Exeter, Gloucester, Portsmouth, Salisbury, Truro, Winchester) and hopefully we can show them what we do and they can do likewise.

I would like to reorganise our communications so that everyone has access to what is going on in our diocese and in the MU elsewhere. It is humbling to think that we make a major positive contribution to people’s lives not only in our diocese with the many projects we support and the things we do; but also across the world where many are struggling.

SO, thank you everyone for what you do, whether through the prayers you say or the actions you do. We need both, so thank you and may God bless you all and give you the wisdom to see where you fit in. Amen.
